Jefferson College Big Band w/ guest Sarah Hanahan

Join us for a rare Monday afternoon concert featuring the big band of Jefferson College led by Dr. Joel Vanderheyden with guest soloist saxophonist Sarah Hanahan.

Sarah Hanahan is an extremely diverse young upcoming artist in the jazz world. She is constantly searching to push the boundaries of modern jazz, while staying true to the tradition. As an artist, Sarah is always writing new compositions to try to find her own sound and ideas. With multiple performances under her belt that deal strictly with her original music, Sarah has a clear idea of what she is trying to capture. The beauty of melody, harmonic intricacy, and complexity is what sets Sarah’s playing and compositions apart. She is always searching, eager to learn, and practicing to reach a new level.
