On June 6th at Jackie Robinson Park (Bandshell – 116 Bradhurst Ave, NYC, NY 10039) from 5:00-6:30pm, the Gabriel Chakarji Quartet will present a fresh array of original compositions and innovative arrangements. This special performance promises a musical journey through South American and Caribbean styles and inventive reinterpretations of jazz classics by Ornette Coleman and Thelonious Monk. This event is part of the ongoing 3rd annual West Harlem Summer Jazz Festival, which lasts May 2nd through September 13th; this festival presents FREE live outdoor concerts, provided through a collaboration between the West Harlem Arts Alliance (WHAA) West Harlem Development Corporation (WHDC), NYC Parks, Harlem Late Night Jazz, the National Jazz Museum in Harlem (NJMH), IAMCHELSEAIAM, and the Montefiore Park Neighborhood Association.
