Join the exciting ensemble Kinen & The LayeRhythm Band on Saturday, June 14th from 6:30-9:30pm at Ingersoll Community Center (177 Myrtle Ave, Brooklyn, NY, 11201) for a special community celebration! A combination of live music and street dance, this performance highlights elements of body control, mechanical movement, and illusionary dancing. This community performance celebrates Black American cultural practices through freestyle motion and sound. Led by dancer Kinen Thomas, this band will feature Simone Acosta on keyboard, Ksenia Vasileva on bass, and Rodney Harrison on drums.

About the Artist:
Kinen and the LayRhythm Band are known for their improvisational live jazz music and street dance performances. They have performed at various venues like the Harris Theater in Chicago, as well as 92Y in New York City.
Keenan “Kinen” Thomas is a dancer from New York City. His movement is inspired by the mechanical, geometric, and illusionary possibilities of the body through rhythms and imagination. Kinen has participated in a number of notable freestyle dance events around the world like “Stackin Stylez,” “Lite Fest International,” “Thesis,” “Highlight The Style,” and “Juste Debout.” He has taught at numerous dance schools around the world.
