Live from Harlem – JFA Presents: The Harmony Bartz Experience

Born in Harlem, Taifa “Harmony” Bartz has been singing since the age of 2, and began her acting and modeling career at age 9. Her father, jazz saxophonist and two-time Grammy winner Gary Bartz, introduced her to a wide variety of music starting at a very young age. Her band, The Harmony Bartz Experience, is an explosion of straight ahead jazz, blues, neo-soul, r&b, and funk, with her jazz vocal stylings woven amongst every song. This band is one of the hottest in the tri-state area and they have performed at uptown venues such as the world renowned Minton’s, The Shrine and Patrick’s Place, at the long-running International African American Festival, the Fort Greene Jazz Festival, and the Old-Timer’s festival at Crotona Park in the Bronx.

This event is free and open to the public!

This event will also stream on the Jazz Foundation and Jazz Museum Facebook pages and the Museum YouTube Channel.

Presented with the Jazz Foundation of America, supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and by the Howard Gilman Foundation.
