George Gray: Music & Fitness Seminar
A native of Baltimore, drummer George Gray is held in high esteem for his time and versatility. Soon after earning a degree in music education at Morgan State University, he was offered the drum chair in Pockets, a major funk group produced by Verdine and Maurice White from Earth, Wind & Fire. After three albums for Columbia, Gray went on to freelance with a long list of musical greats including Chuck Berry, Gary Bartz, Earth, Wind & Fire, Pharoah Sanders, Abdullah Ibrahim, Onaje Allan Gumbs and most recently, the Sun Ra Arkestra. At the same time, Gray has maintained a parallel career as a fitness expert and personal trainer. Centering health and well-being for musicians is a core passion, which he focuses on at this special seminar / concert, featuring his electrifying jazz trio.
