Join the National Jazz Museum in Harlem for The Spirit of Jazz: A Conversation on Jazz, American Culture, Philanthropy, and the Legacy of Ken Peplowski. NJMH Senior Scholar Loren Schoenberg joins Stephen Heinz, President of the Rockefeller Brothers Foundation, for an engaging discussion exploring jazz’s profound influence on American culture, the vital role of philanthropy in sustaining the arts, and the enduring legacy of the late clarinetist Ken Peplowski.

Serving as a prelude to The Spirit of Jazz: A Tribute to Ken Peplowski at The Pocantico Center on July 25th, the program reflects on Peplowski’s remarkable artistry and the vision he helped shape for this year’s concert before his passing. Tickets for the July 25th concert can be purchased HERE.

Throughout the evening, internationally acclaimed pianist Rossano Sportiello will provide live musical interludes, creating an inspiring blend of conversation, history, and world-class jazz that celebrates the music, the people, and the institutions that ensure its future.

The National Jazz Museum in Harlem’s Spirit of Jazz series is made possible through the generous support of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund’s Charles E. Culpeper Arts & Culture program.
