Kick off your Saturday night alongside the sounds of local musicians, ranging from jazz to funk to fusion and more! On Saturday, June 21st, Make Music NY! and NJMH will present the salsa, timba and global rhythms of People of Earth for a special performance!
This performance, part of Uptown Grand Central’s Open Streets 2025, is completely free and open to the public! Open Streets is a celebration of El Barrio’s history of using its streets as gathering spaces; make plans for outdoor dining, live music & family fun… plus splashing in the hydrant when the temps get high! Open Streets is held on 101st Street just West of Lexington in June, and on 100th Street just East of Lexington in July and August. In addition to live music, a variety of other exciting events are planned every Saturday, including story-time at 2pm, a wine tasting for parents at 2pm, craft time at 3pm, and more!
This event is produced in partnership with Make Music NY! and Uptown Grand Central, who receive support from Civitas, Ascendant Neighborhood Development, Union Settlement, Ponce Bank, Project Construction Pros, Community Board 11, the NYC Department of Transportation, and the NYC Department of Small Business Services & Deputy Speaker Diana Ayala.
