Music on the Brain: Mind, Body & Soul

B.B. King once said, “Blues is pain, but it’s a pain that brings joy.” In this edition of our series Music on the Brain, we’ll explore the curious connection between pleasure and pain in the brain. Join us in a discussion about the neuroscience behind how music serves to alleviate pain and, as it brings people together, can lead us to what many perceive as a spiritual sense of unity with others.

Join multi-instrumentalist jazz musician, composer, and educator T.K. Blue, pianist Greg Murphy,  and Zuckerman Institute Neuroscientist and NSF Fellow Rachel Frazer for a jazz concert and dialogue, exploring the impact of music on the mind, the body, and the soul.
