Live from Harlem – JFA Presents: Hilliard Greene & the Jazz Expressions

Hilliard Greene & the Jazz Expressions
Launched by the famed jazz balladeer Jimmy Scott as his backup band, the Jazz Expressions band took on a life of its own with his blessings and urgings. Always staffed by powerhouse players, it has blossomed under bassist Hilliard Greene’s direction since 1994. Also featuring TK Blue (sax, flute), Sharp Radway (piano), and Dwayne “Cook” Broadnax (drums). “I can’t say enough about the Jazz expressions. It would be hard to find more committed or more brilliant musicians. Their improvisations and progressive unions are flawless. For anyone who appreciates top-notch jazz symmetry, it doesn’t get much better.”
– John Hoglund, Backstage

This event will stream on the Jazz Foundation and Jazz Museum Facebook pages and the Museum YouTube Channel.

This project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and by the Howard Gilman Foundation.
