Calling all jazz lovers!
In an ongoing effort to archive, preserve and share the rich history and legacy of the Jazz in Harlem experience with every person on the planet, we are inviting the community of Harlem, the greater New York City area and beyond to bring in and share any special jazz artifacts and/or memorabilia with our team of historians and archivists. These items will be scanned, documented and included in the Museum’s digital archive. In the event that you would like to donate any artifacts to the museum, you’ll be given information on how to do so.
This is an open invitation for any and all artifacts that speak to the jazz experience in Harlem and beyond. From old photos, posters and flyers to iconic articles of clothing, instruments and/or album covers. Participants will bring in their unique artifact(s) and take part in a brief interview with our historians to help succinctly identify, document and describe their artifacts.
Select artifacts will have the possibility of being curated into our limited engagement in-person and/or online exhibits at the Museum.
This event is from 5-7:30p
This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
