An afternoon of Spiritual Jazz in the tradition of honored elders and ancestors John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Randy Weston, Olatunji, Pharoah Sanders, Eddie Palmieri and The East. Led by the acclaimed bassist and composer Rachiim Ausar-Sahu, who is known for his work with Tulivu-Donna Cumberbatch, Abdullah Ibrahim and Amiri Baraka, as well as for his unique compositions for larger ensembles.
Presented in partnership with the Jazz Foundation of America, supported in part by an award from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and by the Howard Gilman Foundation.
