Bassist Tyler Mitchell’s long tenure with the Arkestra, under the leadership of both Marshall Allen and Sun Ra himself, has taken him to stages all around the world, and informs this special new duo with the accomplished Italian alto saxophonist Nicoletta Manzini. Digging deep into Sun Ra repertoire, centering jazz, improvisation and eclectic rhythms, this unique small ensemble takes their sound to the spaceways.
